BLR in 308 I have had the longest and used for everything from moose to ground squirrels.
[The Montana Gianni] Front sight and squeeze
Lostinidaho- that looks like a steel grasshopper eating a walnut plank. So cool! Do a thread on that thing!

I can't say that I actually have a favorite. My Win94ae's screw holes for the scope, are screwed-up. And my Marlin 1894S is much less precise... so I kind of dislike them equally.
Uncle Virgil's Win 92 in 32/20. Got to use it for about 3 years while I was in high school. It had an about 20 inch half octagon barrel, I never measured it to know. The front sight was a nickel silver blade in a steel base, the rear was a plain barrel mounted in a dovetail like the front was mounted. The blind magazine was totally covered by the schnobble forend which had an ebony inlay in the forward end. Though it was carbine length it had a rifle butt plate. It looked identical to one in a picture in my 8th grade geography textbook. The picture was of an aerial bomb taken by the US Geodetic Survey.
My cousin now has the gun and I have not seen it in 43 years.
Edit: As to why, it is a beautiful gun that is light, handy, powerful enough without too much recoil for my old bones and it was my introduction to lever guns. Also, I have not seen a levergun with better lines, though an old Savage 99 with a slim stock does not look bad.

Spell check doesn't work in Chrome, so if something is spelled wrong, it's just a typo that I missed.
How about a belt fed Ruger 96/44?

I’d like a belt fed conversion for my Ruger 44 carbine.
I imagine this has been asked or even tried, but a modern 1892 ( 39A) in 32 S&W long or even 32 H&R mag. would be mounds of cheap fun. I am guessing not enough metal for the slightly bigger cartridges? I guess I am answering my own question when marlin used a 1894 for its 32 H&R mag.

Your 1892 Marlin is a beautiful rifle. It’s got to be a real sweetheart to shoot. Similar to my Cadet, very easy to shoot well.
Im always working on my 86... I just ordered a new old Lyman #6
My favorite is the only one I have , Win 88 carbine model in 308 .

As a BRAND... 'Middle aged' Marlins. Say 1948-1990.
As model Winchester '92 then 86 then close '71. Followed by Marling '94 & 336 side by each.

If you're gonna be stupid, don't pull up short. Saddle up and ride it all the way in.
Mine is a 1920's vintage Winchester 94 src in 32 spl. It was my great uncles gun he bought at the railroad "company store " . I have fond memories asa child visiting uncle victor and seeing that ole gun hanging in the gunrack in the side room off the hallway . It's a family gun so it will get passed to my son . It's got honest wear and a butter smooth action . Really like that ladder rear sight it wears and makes for great fun with my plinker load of 6 grs of Bullseye shooting at longer ranges when you can see the dust being kicked up by the impact .
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
