Friends! The 21st annual Nevada Cast Bullet Shoot is scheduled to take place May 29, 30 and 31 at the Humboldt County Shooting Park just north of Winnemucca. Please consider this announcement an invitation to past shooters and especially new shooters to attend. While the main reason we get together each year is to spend some quality time with old and new shooting friends, we also hold competition over a number of events as follows:
100 yard any sight group and score
50 yard iron sight group and score
25 yard iron sight handgun (10” or less barrel) group and score
Long range iron sight (400 yards non-prone field position)
25 yard Companion Guns-25 yards score iron sight handgun and rifle—same box of ammo
Other games as offered up by attendees such as rifle and pistol team stake shoots, timed fire practical rifle and/or handgun, etc.
Group completion is a test of the bullet caster/loader and done any position without rest attached to firearm.
Score competition is a test of the shooter and is done off hand without sling.
Competitors can shoot/submit only one target per firearm, but additional targets can be entered with other qualifying guns. There will be plenty of guns and ammunition to borrow in case you don’t have an appropriate firearm—or just want to try something else out.
In addition to lots of shooting on the 30th and 31st, there will be a welcoming lunch and “Rools Committee” dinner on the 29th, a pot luck dinner on the 30th and a closeout/awards dinner on the 31st. There will be a gear exchange drawing during the awards dinner—each participant please bring two items to place on the awards table—with each participant getting two random choices to select from the table.
Please watch for updates as to lunch/dinner locations and and don’t hesitate to ask for additional information.
