Just split some large chunks of lead (80 lb) in the wood splitter. Works like a charm.

Lotta people die in bed: Dangerous place to be!
I have a bunch of lead pigs, 60 pounds each, and that may be the way I go to convert them to more useable sizes.

Uh, where do you find such big chunks of lead.
Really big truck tire shop, you should see the steel clips they are 1" thick plate steel...
Why is the sky blue, why do bears crap in the woods? When I's find's it I don't ask's no questions, I's just takes it and melts it down!
I thought I was being clever, and you guys always want to get into the philosophy of the process.

A good place to get lead is from decommisioned Nuclear Submarines.

I found a neat way to break up lino bars. I was splitting wood and there was abar of lead next to the wood pile, a light bulb went on and in MY splitter it worked! Just groans a little and cuts right through. I do have a pretty narrow splitter blade though.
Where are you getting chunks so big that they even need to be split???
Suo Gan,
I guess you need to post a picture of the place where you get your lead hunks.
If it isn't a real wide angle shot, nobody will be able to identfy it...and beat you to it.
Thise who have splitters are probably already getting set up to try your suggestion, and those hungry for pictures will have something to occupy their image-starved minds...
Comic books and television were the spreading cancers that blinded 'the mind's eye'.

Retired...TWICE. Now just raisin' cows and livin' on borrowed time.
KCSO, I can save you some work if you are using linotype that is in long ingots just whack it over a piece of I beam or rail from the railroad or even the edge of an anvil will work. The stuff will break very clean. Maybe this will save your splitter for wood.....Wes
The problem in America today is, there are to many fools making to many rules that don't apply to themselves. Now just wait until the new pres. takes office and see what happens!!!!!
