You can't go wrong with the 311284 if you have a milsurp with the 2-groove barrel like mine. Just be sure the nose casts to a light drag fit. Lap it larger if need be.

you can get a 30 cal mould with no GC, but it's not common.
I would suggest you get a GC mould, because it will make load development a bit easier.
The 311284 is awesome, it truly is. But it's a lot of bullet for punching holes in paper with at 100 yards. The 311291 is a very good, general purpose .30 caliber. If you want to hunt, something with a flat nose would be best, like the Ranchdog, or 311041.
I got one of the RCBS 180 grain FP molds and so far, it has shown itself to be a real good one in various things and like all RCBS molds, very easy to cast good bullets with.
