Grizzly Jig sells replacement tip sections for some of the rods they stock.
Thank you, I was looking into that also, but some of the rods half that would not work. One of the rods when pull the canoe up a bank it look to be ok and then pull it up with my pick up and trailer I roll over and then I found the rod top half done for. I have a hard time to lift the canoe up the bank that is why I did what I did.

You sir, should be buying Shakespeare Ugly Stiks.
I heard a while back that there isn't a decent warranty on the ugly stick any more
With the end of metal ferrules and rod makers all just sliding the butt end into the tip without the ferrule, I have never been able get a precise fit of a new tip to an old butt. I build my own rods so I just salvage all the components that are still useable and buy a replacement rod. I do miss the old metal ferrules, especially the gold colored ones (I forget the brand).
These folks have been around forever. Maybe they have something you can use (or build).

When I break a bottom half, the top half is near instantly rigged with string and feathers for a cat toy.
Replacing tops is rough IMO. You almost need to be able to custom build a new tip section for it.
Thank you all. for your help Ghost Hawk you are right the top half is rough to find. Not able to find any that will work out.

I have 2 almost new small spinning ods. when my kids cast one out the tip section went way out and the line snapped. So now Im tring to fing some new heavy duty metal Rod tips Guides to glue onto them both and use them as Ice Fishing rods. I have not gone ice foishing in years as its usually too cold, but it may be an excuse to get out of the house for a day or two this winter. they also make good stout Mackerel jiggin rods that wont take a lot of space on the boat. leave the mackeral jig and teaser hooks attached and just store them in PVC Rod holders. rigged and ready to go.
