Whether you are making pellets or slugs for your airgun, I believe that swaging will bring the best results, that's why factory pellets are swaged.
ever try to pour an air pellet. swagging is about the only way to go when you get that small and need the exactness of shape.
if you are ever being chased by a taxidermist, don't play dead
Where does one get swaging equipment, dies, presses, etc?
dave corbin
both him and his brother make swag dies but dont let one know you are dealing with the other, they dont get along so well.
corbin.com is the other I think

Dave is corbin.com. He has a business with employees.
Richard is RCE.com, he is a single person shop winding down his business.
Both are getting up there in years.

It IS possible to swage Diabolo (waisted) pellets, I have a die that will do it.... but it requires being unbolted to split the die after every operation.... You fit a sprue plate to the top, fill the cavities with lead, just like casting, cut the sprues, then put a guide plate on top that lines up a punch, hit it with a hammer to finish swaging the shape, remove the guide plate, shave the lead that squeezes out with a box cutter, unbolt the two halves of the die and remove the pellets....
It is beautifully made in tool steel.... but the process looks so complicated I have not as yet used it....

NOE make pellet moulds for .22, 25, .30 and .357 cal and .457 is coming.... .177 seems just a bit too small, as the tooling needed to mill out the molds is just too fragile, unfortunately.... Maybe some day?....
