Nothing for a while. We're in the middle of a major kitchen remodel and with my loading room being located just off of the kitchen its catching some of the overflow from the kitchen cabinets. But Mama seems happy and I'll be back in there in a few weeks.
After shattering my (orange) kinetic bullet puller I ventured out to the Bi-Mart and got a new (green one) and this time I actually sat down and read the directions [ I know, right?]. I had been using the old one on a piece of steel ever since I got it (it only lasted 19 years). I am surprised It lasted that long. Fortunately I didn't use it very often. To my surprise the directions for the green one say not to strike it on anything metal. Hmmmmmm. So I found a old 2X4 in the garage and started using it. Laying flat on the reloading table it kind of worked, but was awkward, and bounced everything on the table. I had an idea. I stood it on end and used it that way. It is about 2 feet long and is perfect height to just stand it on end between my feet. Voila..... What a deal, works perfectly. So the moral of the story is; Old dogs can learn new tricks. I love this hobby!
I found a Remington 788 in .30/30 at the Wannenmacher Gunshow in Tulsa, longer ago than I want to admit. I had been looking for one for awhile, and they weren't getting any easier to find, or any cheaper, so I bit the bullet and picked one up. The only one I saw there in that caliber.
The place was absolutely infested with 788s, but not in .30/30. Plenty of .222, .22-250, 7mm-.08, even a few .308. One lonely .30/30.
Well, since then, the only thing I've done with it is to run a patch down the barrel. I'm here to say, I'm getting closer to shooting the rifle.
Cast up a few Lee C309-170-F. They drop at .3105 - .311 from that mould. Tiny little thing, the mould. I have to slow down to keep it from overheating. Next time, I'll wet a rag, and touch the bottom of the mould to it to dump some heat. I'm not used to a 2-cav.
Push-through sized, in a NOE Die, to .311 to seat the check, which is aluminum from Sage. Then, through a .311 H&I die for a dollop of TAC. Hopefully I can try some out in a few days.

GONRA's swaging "Full Polymer Core" FMJ .380 ACP Seecamp bullets. Expect keyholes. But wanna check it out for myself. Stay Tuned. (yawn)....
What kind of polymer are you swaging Gonra?
Sized and lubed a few 9mm for my CZ. Tomorrow is range day at the Sheriff's range, and the weather is supposed to be fairly warm.
Edit: the range was closed due to almost all of our Sheriff's department assisting the people in Beauregard and Smith's Station.....

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
I finally got a mould for one of my favorite little Smiths. So... cast about 700 boolits, conventional lubed half and PC'ed half. The PC ones will be for the "magnum" loads, likely 2400 or H110 Data powder. The mould is the Saeco 325. I had been using a boolit from Cast Performance, but was not fond of the profile. This drops at .315, and get sized to .313.

Winter doesn’t seem to want to end here in Manitoba, Canada. So I decided it was a good day to give my older Dillon SDB a thorough cleaning. When I started I noticed some side to side movement in the crank handle. Which lead to this:
So it’s now all cleaned and I sent an email to Dillon to replace the worn parts. Which are these:
This was the oldest of my Dillon’s. Now I’ll lube my other two SDB and the 550. I know there are no surprises in these presses. Some day it will warm up enough for some trigger time!!
So I emailed Dillon my list of worn parts on Saturday. Rec’d a confirmation email Monday and was advised parts shipped Tuesday. That folks is incredible service.

Prepared a few 45-70 cases I used on Sunday .
Trixter, I’ve had a blue midway bullet puller forever and use my plastic bench hammer to wack it against. I know that you’re not supposed to hit two hammers together but I think this is ok.
