Looks like it is over standard pressure but should be under +p pressures

    jetsfan,

Lyman's #50 Handbook lists 6.5 grains of Unique as max for regular loads with the 110 grain JHP and 7.1 grains as the max +P load for the .38 Special. That's a fair amount over the Alliant website data.

The S&W airweight is tougher than you think. He probably will not damage the gun, but might damage his wrists. I own an airweight, and have fired +P loads in it. The recoil is somewhat abusive.

A couple months ago I did a little testing with a 110gr cast bullet, it's a cramer gallery bullet (right)

I used 7.0gr of unique in 38spl cases and tested that load over a chronograph @ 10ft in a 2" bbl'd charter arms undercover. I only did a 10-shot string but every shot was 1100fps & change. That load was actually pretty impressive, recoil was a lot minder than expected along with the 1100fps was a head scratching eye opener.

I plan on re-testing that load along with running a couple bullets in wetpack just to see what kind of penetration they get.
