My friend now tells me that he is looking for #57 primers!
From what I remember they are also our of production and have been for over 20 years!

Out of production for sure. I'd go to the Shotgun World forum and post. Some of those guys may have some stashed. The discussion comes up now and then on their forums.
He may be able to reload the primers. At one time CCI made what they called "caps". You used a smaller de-capping pin and deprimed. Then, you reinserted the anvil and a "cap" which I think was a berdan primer and were ready to go. I used a thousand of these when I first started loading shot shells and had no misfires. These show up occasionally a well but are discontinued./beagle
diplomacy is being able to say, "nice doggie" until you find a big rock.....
I think I have some. Are these worth fooling with shipping?

8 in the 10 ring, then I get a PING. Love my Garand.
How much is your friend willing to pay for sleeves of the #57 primers? They're out there but scarce
Regards
John
I have several thousand if you are interested.

Was not trying to sell anything. Was planning on giving them to him.
What is he going to load the #57 primers in? For years I used the old ribbed Remington 28 gage hulls that were originally sized for #57. Had to readjust the primer seater on MEC Grabber for a hard stop (not spring) and #209's went in just fine.
The only amendment the Democrats support is the 5th.
You can still use them for shotgun but it's a little bit of work. Cut small sections of a drinking straw to act like a bushing and they will fit in the newer hulls.
I have some remintons 7-800 and 500 Peters #57
I loaded some this afternoon in OLD Remington 16 gauge hulls
