SW 32-20 Cylinder Does Not Advance When Trigger Pulled Or Hammer Cocked

An old SW 32-20 in good shape but the cylinder does not not advance when the trigger is pulled DAO or hammer cocked unless the muzzle is pointed towards the ground.

Is this the handspring and how hard of a fix is this? Just a matter pulling the sideplate and replacing a spring? I'm looking at bidding on one as a shooter not a safe queen so don't want to put much money into it

The parts should be available, and if you buy the book by Jerry Kuhnhausen, The S & W Revolver, A Shop Manual you should be able to fix the problem yourself.

But if you get on line, I bet there are also YouTube Videos of the type of repair you need to do.

The hand spring is staked into the hand. But not a hard fix. It may not be broken. Might just need a good cleaning.
