Rossi R92 .44 mag with Lee 430-310gc

It looks like in March I may have an in at a private water fowl club in the PRK to hunt pigs after the season is over.
I am kicking around taking my Rossi if I can get it to shoot these boolits.
I have this mould on its way and can’t wait to try it out.
What I’m wondering is, has anyone tried it in the Rossi, it’s a carbine, and how did it work out?
Will it shoot the heavies with the barrel twist, and how hard did you push them?
This boolit looks like it is going to be a hammer.
If it doesn’t work out in the Rossi, next up will be my RBH, RRH, or my Contender with a super 14 barrel.
One of them has to shoot this right?

Tried it in Win 94 old mid-80's, 3-4" groups at 100yds.
Browning 92, 3+" at 100yds.
Rossi 92 Carbine, mid-80's - 2 1/2" at 50yds.
100yd Shotgun pattern.

Maybe more recently made guns have faster twists.

I've used the SAECO #432, a 265gr FPGC with very good success against Pigs here in Central CALIF.
Great penetration, very good accuracy. Just glad I didn't get caught back in the early 1990's by CA Wildlife Dept. Most were thru & thru.
Great accuracy in RUGER Blackhawk, Super RedHawk & S & W Model 29.

The bullet might be a little heavy for the twist rate of the 92 but the problem that I had was that my rosi liked the Bullets a little fatter than what dropped from that mold. I have a LBT that casts at .432 and the accuracy in the slightly fatter bullet is substantial.

Both will shoot a baseball size group at 100 yards with my 2x scope. Roze is one of the best kept secrets out there. Run them to about 1700 fps or the 300g NOE's at 1440. Warning about the NOE's you'll need to trim seat and then crimp. I use a 45 ACP seating die on my turret press to seat

The key in shooting heavy bullets is to get the RPM's up correctly.
The ruger redhawk 1/20 and an S&W has a 1/18 in twist, the Contender a 1/22in , rifles usually 1/30 to 1/38in...
A 300 gr bullet at 1000fps from a ruger will get around 36000 rpm.
An S&W [1/18] 900fps
To get this from a rossie 92, you need about 1500fps due to the slower twist.
From a marlin [1/38] you need 1900fps.
What is required is to match the RPM's to the length [weight ] of the round.
This is why heavy bullets usually don't shoot well with reduced loads.

Got my Lee mould in and cast some boolits. They came out nice for a first casting session. My 45-70 mould cast horribly the first session. Never got a good boolit. From the second session on they were awesome.
Can’t wait to load and shoot some of these!
They are 50-50 coww,soww no tin added.

I had an older Rossi Puma with the cougar medallion I foolishly let get away. It would shoot the 310 Lee over a charge of WC820 that would encourage a flinch if not firmly attached to your shoulder. 2" groups @ 100 yards traveling 1750 fps.

1750 is moving for a 310 boolit.
I have 2400, unique and W296.
I water quenched them and sized a few to .429.
.429 plunks both my Rugers, but I have not checked bore size yet on any of my .44’s.

I've used 19gr accurate 9 under that boolit in my 16" Rossi and did shoot a pig with it. Right through both shoulders from about 50 yds. I would do even better if mine didn't have a constriction under the rear dovetail. I haven't tried powder coating, or lapping yet. Accuracy wasn't bad at all before leading occurred.

I use that mold to cast for a Handi and a Marlin 1894, both have slow twists. I have used it on deer 30-70 yds and never recovered a bullet. I have not used at 100 because I can't see that far where I hunt. It is very accurate at 50 yds, and hits with quite a bit of authority. A friend used some that I cast on a buffalo and got total penetration, I did water quench those but usually do not. I do drive them with H110, so they get pushed hard. Cast same with pure lead for my muzzleloader but use sabot and no check or lube for that. Works great in that too. If memory is correct, they cast at .431 from my mold.
