I saw the Weatherbys in .243,.308, .270& 30-06. Good deal for someone looking! Totally outclasses the Axis IMO.

whats a wal mart????
Saw a 30-06 wood stock Axis for $344 at WM today. Not sure if it was close out or not, but you can't argue with the price...
I dont think that model was one of the ones on closeout. I know the weatherby rifles are on it. The Savage Axis (l), heard about some Stevens pump shotguns for $100, Ruger Mini14 for $399.

MY local WM sold out of the Savage Axis I and the Weatherby's 2 days ago.
Mini 14 for $399?
No kidding?

^^^^^ That's a 1/2 price deal. Gp
IMO the Minis have been overpriced since O was elected. That is good news.

It's odd for me to buy guns at walmart but I did buy one of the weatherby vanguard 308s for 349 a few weeks ago. Never owned one before, just a howa 1500 action to me. First group shot right at 5/8" at 100 yards using cheap federal blue box 150s. Second group was right at in inch. All groups afterwords started stringing toward 1 o'clock 4 to 6 inches, at this point I stopped.
After floating the barrel in the cheap plastic stock the next range trip all groups was 1.25 minute and less. I was wound tight that day and wasn't shooting my best to say the least. All groups was shot fairly quick keeping the barrel warm. It's certain the rifle will shoot much better than I that day. Not a bad shooter for $350. BTW, that was with no real load development for that rifle.

Just made a mad dash to my local Walmart. No mini 14's in stock and ALL the rifles were normal priced.
Thanks for your info concerning Missouri and Wisconsin - I wondered if this was just a local southern thing right now.

Montana is still at $349 on sale. I got the last 243 a month ago. It’s an absolute tack driver, and my 14 yr old claimed it as “his” antelope rifle. Glad I got a good one.
$249 south of Oklahoma but sold out.........good rifles.
