It was last week sometime, but I cast 40 RD 170 gr fn 30 Cal for a friend of mine, and a few hundred 9mm for myself.

Did I ever mention that I hate to trim brass?
I've been trying different 50 caliber moulds to get one to chamber in my swede rolling block for about a month, neither of the Lee 515 moulds would chamber, so the hunt went on. Today the Lyman mould arrived, it is the 395 gr plains boolit made for stuffing down a muzzle loader, but it fit the resized case mouth perfect as cast, and after seating case mouth tension is perfect too. Now if is does not rain tomorrow I hope to try to see how it shoots.
Starting load is 50 grains of Pyrodex RS, over a magnum rifle primer, powder is covered by a cardboard wad, and topped with Lyman 395 gr Plains boolit.
Here is how they look.
Cast a couple dozen Lee .562 round ball to see if they were a snug but not overly tight fit in 20 gauge with a wad. Now going out to do a couple hundred because they fit very well.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.
Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

The last two days, I've been cleaning my garage. I hope to cast some ingots tomorrow...um, I mean later today after I get some sleep. Smelting range scrap and misc bullet rejects and refining 3 years worth of dross. Pictures will happen, if I actually get at it. stay tuned.

Got a new RCBS Easy Melt pot a few weeks ago and gave it a descent workout this past weekend. Had to adjust the temp to match my NOE stick thermometer, but, very happy with the new pot!

If you're gonna be stupid, don't pull up short. Saddle up and ride it all the way in.
Been smelting down my SOWW stash off and on for the last week. Started off with 1.5 buckets of used weights. Ended up with a full 5 gal bucket of my one pound scone ingots. Stinky nasty job, but feels good to have a little stockpile of soft lead ready to go.

First attempt at casting hollow points today, with a homemade modification to a Lee 429-240-2R to boot (also my first). Its been an interesting learning curve. Still have some refining/tweaking to do, but I have 200+ custom hollow point boolits to show for my efforts.

000 buckshot Lee mold. I found that breaking the pellets apart is a lot easier than cutting with a knife. Side cutters leave marks beside the sprue.
JohnB where did you get that stool? I want one.
QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?
Good job on the mould modification and good looking hp Dunkem
I cast and shoot the same bullet as you. my mold is a single cavity. Just got thru casting 300 today and sizing them. Tomorrow. I will powder coat them. I'll wait to put a gas check on them and resize before I load them up.
