It's the same with everything the govt. tries to fix. They hurt the good guy. The druggies still get all they want the guy in pain suffers. There is a thread on here about don't touch my pain meds. many examples of this.

Try 200mg of Tylenol with 400mg of Ibuprofen. I saw a study that said it is more effective than opoids.
Dagnab it Jim!! You could let a fella know what's going on!! Now you go on my prayer list. Makes it a little hard to hoe them 'maters, don't it. GW

I can relate to being bored out of my mind with the drivel on TV. It's hard to find decent Bluegrass with banjo and fiddle and a big Tennasee Flat Top Guitar. I miss Johnny Cash and some of the great people in the music world of those years '65 to '78. So I was a scrawny young and I was struggling to find my way. As a Rookie you can count on being delegated to the less glamorous or downright nasty jobs. However when I walked my foot post people took notice eventually. I made a ton of friends in the neighborhood and I went out of my way to help these folks out. It did not matter to me if they were Anglo, Filipino, Black or another flavor they all were citizens and deserved to be respected. I gave respect and I was working out the humility part with mixed results.
AS a result of some never to spoken out loud incident or series of incidents had taken place for some period of time and it involved my wife as a victim whilst very young. As a result of that trauma (never treated for with counceling her appetite for maritial relations was very much off the charts in the negative. I can recall only once in 20 years of marriage did she ever let herself go and show some appreciation of how I was working at pleasing her by having a very strong orgasm just this once.
After years of quabbling and grumbling on my part the marriage was going down the tubes. I begged her to get some help but she was in denial big time. She could always find a way to place the blame on others if possible. She could never stand to be wrong or apologize. She finally agreed to have some maritial counseling. By the 3rd session she found a way to not go. And she never went again. I finally found some moxie and moved out in '86 when my job required me to go the New Jersey I went quickly and finally found some peace from her constant whining and complaining. It took me from 3/86 to 10/89 to finally get the divorce nailed. It cost me big time but I had my self respect back.
Along the years I spent more than a reasonable amounts of money or wasting time to keep me healthy. Finally July 4th weekend in '99 and I woke up to intense pain from my lower gut. I was really rolling around on the floor moaning in pain when my wife (#2) found a 15 G Percocet and I gulped it down. My wife dragged me all the way to Henderson so see a decent Doctor who had treated me in the past. He took one look at me and had me sit down. He then made a phone call. He suggested very strongly that I take myself to St. Rose Hospital and meet Dr. Ripplinger in the lobby. While smoking my last cigarette that I would have for a decent period of time I thought it prudent to utilize the forced weaning offa nicotine to make a serious attempt to stop smoking. By night number three I was bouncing off the walls trying to ignore my roommate who was very disagreeable and nasty. A friend arrived early in the morning.....like 0230 dark. He asked me if he could pray for me to help me heal faster and lessen the pain. I agreed. I prayed alongside him and for the first time in my life a small spark of faith appeared. There really is not much to do while plugged up in both arms and my little captain also had his own tube. This is the bad part: I had a new butt hole. The cut the neatest round little flange thru my belly fat and rerouted the final product of my digestion to egress from that apature
for the meantime. I have no control of this new opening in my body. They have this little plastic baggie dealie that is glued onto your skin. It will hold about a pint of goodies. You can learn a lot of stuff when you get to examine fresh stool two or 3 times a day. You will not enjoy passing gas at all. First and most serious you can exhaust gas into the baggie but you will be having to open it up and stink up the area on a very regular basis or risk having the bag make an unwelcome entrance down the inside of your left leg and does a net flip at the ankle it turns over depositing the contents across your freshly cleaned carpet. You learn to chew corn and apples really a lot since that stuff hurts when catching the 0815 out of town. Six months later we did it again to close out the belly butt hole and to have a grand reopening of the standard destination for digestive debris/gases/solids/liquids that end up as what we call food when we ingest it. Since then I broke the fibula on my right. That required the insertion of a titanium rod when was then screwed into the leg bone. It was better then not being able to walk. I did not enjoy the pain especially the rapid change of weather. That really gets me moving. Running to put on a paper filter on my schnozz. Increasing my nebulizer treatments to as many as 8 a day just to keep awake. Pretty much 24/7 on oxygen at home. I keep a cylinder of O2 in the back of my truck. So now I can walk maybe 100 to 300 feet and then I need to stop and sit down to catch my breath. This is without any O2 therapy at all. I can keep this up for a few hours and then I must get a nap. Four years after the insertion of the T Rod it is time to remove it as it is generating more pain and it is no longer beneficial for the remaining of the hardware within my body. So I got more scars even.
What kind of stuff did I just write. "generating more pain and it is no longer beneficial for the remaining of the hardware within my body." That must be the meds kicking in......Then for some reason my family doctor wanted to take an ultrasound picture of my blood flow. He wants to change some plumbing. He cut a hole in my neck and scraped out some nasty artery clogging detritus and it made a neat scar. Then he discovered an anyuerism in the abdominal aeorta which he explained was a thinning or weakening of an artery. This was not going to cure itself. IF the thinning or ballooning of the artery were to occur and I was not on the operating table and properly prepped when it happened that I was a walking dead man. So he cut up from the top of the funny to play with parts to past my belly button and then down from that stem to form an upside down Y. I guess that they used some synthetic fabric woven tubing for this chore. I am not wanting to get this invasive surgery again any time in the next 75 years. However I do have to come in every year for a sonogram to see if the pipes are clean and up to the task. If this was a hundred years ago I would have died at birth. But in 1943 in a hospital they had decent doctors and medical staff to do so much more to help people so the OBGYN guy my mom had chosen was able to somehow grab my head in such a way to cause me to escape my mom's overdeveloped body. She was a champion swimmer many times over and it was a pleasure to watch her swim. However she had developed core muscles around her lower body that impeded on the traveling of the child thru the birth canal. The doctors of 1843 did not have those forceps they used on me nor the drugs to help my mom get through this difficult day. So I would have not survived birth at all.
I will add you to my prayer list..........

Welcome to the double replacement club and wishing you a speedy recovery. My second one was less painful and much easier than the first. However, it's been over two years, and it still gets sore / stiff by the end of the day. They are definitely not OEM. I hated the opioids and took as little as possible, mainly just before bed, as a sleep aid.

Hope the pains eases. Just got my full knee replacement about a month ago and it is going extremely well. Doc cleared me to ride my motorcycle! Was off the crutches/walker in about a week and a half.
Sometime soon will be getting my other knee replaced.

Looking forward to replacing both knees. I need to lose about 100 lb. Before they will operate.
QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?
That's what I like to hear!
I asked the surgeon how long until I could get on the motorcycle. He sort of smirked and said "About two months."
I replied, "How about a month!"
Went back in for the one month check-up, and after giving my leg an inspection, he gave me the go-head to ride again!

I've got my left knee scheduled for replacement in July. I can't say I'm really looking forward to it. Oh well, I suppose all that time in the Navy, kicking butt and taking names took it's toll. ☺ I am looking forward to not being in pain all the time. Hoping all goes well with it.
Last time i went in my knee looked like a football, doc drained fluid out and gave me cortisone shot. When i asked what treatment was needed he said knee replacement,BUT your to young for that.
RKJ, I can truly say I am glad I got my knee replaced.
It is far better than having constant pain. Truthfully, the surgery is easy. The rehab can be challenging!
