I'm afraid one of the best technical works I know on shotgun and ball gun technology, General Journée's "Tir des fusils de chasse" has never been translated, reprinted in French or even so far as I know properly digitised. So copies sell for high prices in France. There are too many tables and mathematical symbols, and the author was badly served by his publishers. It is too badly printed to photocopy to publishing standards, and mine is printed on miserably brittle paper.

It has been an important source for writers of modern or nearly modern times, which isn't bad for someone who served in the Franco-Prussian war of 1870.
