1st die set

I read that RCBS stamps the manufacturer date on their dies so, I got out the first set that started me into reloading. I still use this set regularly. Attachment 208856 it's for 30/30. Sometimes I wish I still had the Texan C press and scale I bought at the same time.

Yes, 1970, my 38/357 dies are 1975

My first die set was a set of Lyman 30-06 "All American" dies. Bought about 1965 to use with my Lyman Spartan press. I used the dies today and still have the Spartan. And while the press is no longer my "go to" press, it still sees regular use for decaping (both rifle and pistol) and for sizing pistol cases. The dies work as well today as back then. A disassemble and cleaning one in a while and they are good to go.

RCBS dies had an alpha date code that began with the letter A in 1950. The code seemed to have been abandoned in the late 1960s.
I have found older dies with the alpha code for 1966 and the numerical 66 too.

does Pacific have the same deal? letter code for dates?

Pacific has a multi owner past. Some dies are marked with a code, many are not. I cannot get deeper into it as I am out of town and no catalog access.
