Stopped by Bruno's and picked this up today.
Can't turn back now.
BTW, Bruno's has nearly every powder imaginable in stock right now. Prices are good, too.

Let us know how that powder does. I've needed nothing other than W296/H110 or Lil Gun for my little .300. A joy of a cartridge.
Been working with Lil Gun myself but that pound won't last long. So please let us know.

What cast bullet are you going to use?
How about HTC310-247-FN (Blackout/Whisper)? Theoretically very promising...

I bought an 300 AAC Blackout upper several years ago and never regretted it. It is a great AR platform, utilizing standard magazines, and bumping the caliber into a legal hunting cartridge. Mine is a real shooter.
I never tried cast boolits, just used 150gr pulled down .30 cal bullets, with 16gr of WC820.
Enjoy your 300 Blackout!
PS... I have been looking at the 458 SOCOM! Now what in the heck would I need that for...?

I may hold off on loading cast bullets for a while and start experimenting with what I already have on-hand for 308. I've got everything from 125gr TNT's to 208gr A-Max, and lots of stuff in between.
Wishing I would have bought more 145gr PPU's when they were $266/2K.
Never had much interest in .300blk, but I've recently been finding more and more of that brass out at the club. I need to do something with it! Plus I have about a jillion .223 cases too that could be used to make more of it.....all I'd need is an upper receiver and some dies.
I would highly recommend the AAC(Advanced Armament Corporation) 300 Blackout upper. It's pricey (I think I paid close to $1000!) but, IMHO, well worth it. It is a shooter.
It has been a few years since I got mine so the other uppers have probably come a long way.
There is also a great 300 Blackout forum out there, 300BlkTalk.com.

For a cheap cal. to shoot, BO is great. Was checking the ballistic calc today, my 150gr Hornady SP should get out to 200 with a 9" drop (decent BC) & ~ 900 ft# if I can get 2k fps. pretty decent using 1/2 the powder of 30/30.
Whatever!
308Jeff: You are looking for a +- 200 gr bullet for the 300BO.
I found the Lyman 311299 and 311334 to shoot well in mine.

Another interesting bullet working accurately in mine is the Hornady 160 Grain FTXs. The
"30-30" style seems to shoot a bit better than the 308 Marlin style 160 FTX. They are
Designed to expand down to 1600 fps. Easily met in the BO.

Thank you!
Very interesting. Rocky Mountain Reloading has pulls on sale, and I was just looking at them. Thanks!

Edit: I was looking at the picture on their website, and they look like they have some pretty significant pull marks...
Try shooting some sub-sonic 30AAC in a single-shot gun with a can and you'll be hooked.
Many may scoff at single shots BUT I find they really save on ammunition, don't diminish the fun and if your shooting alone with a can, don't require hearing protection.
I can promise you it won't be your only 300 Blk. for long ,very addictive,TRUST ME.All of mine are CAST lovers .
The 155gr.Lee is cheap to shoot.
