probably have not changed the labeling.
Anyone used deer fat and have a recipe they used? I've seen people posting on line about straight and maybe a little BW. I rendered down almost a quart last year and had it in the basement fridge all year. I was figuring on melting some and didn't know if I should use it straight or a small mixture of BW to stiffen it. I want to pre-soak pillow ticking strips, score them and roll them up for later use. I am aware other people have other recipes and I want to make it from what I can/could gather.
I tried some Emerrit's lube I had for conicals and that just became a waxed strip of cloth. Way too much BW in it for dipping patches. I know I can use vegetable oil, but am afraid it would leach to the powder during hunting and I can't really gather that.

I dislike animal fats and beeswax. Beeswax is just to gummy and animals can stink you out of the house when they rot.
Never mind, I cut some squares off my Emerret's lube and did this. It got stick on my cutting board and then I just heated it over the fire low until the cloth was hot and laid it back down and it got semi stiff once cooled. Now I just have to shoot them for testing.
Murphy's wood soap and rubbing alcohol 50/50 mix. Cheap and available at any store.
Buzzards got to eat, same as the worms.
