I got an old rusty RCBS RS press yesterday.
Took it apart and it's soaking now.
What is an RS press?????
Looks a little smaller than a RC.
Still looks strong.

Reloader special. I have a RS-5 that came in my first metallic reloading kit. I think it is cast aluminum or an alloy, not steel. Have loaded a lot of ammo on it.
I've got one of those. A good press for handgun ammo. Get a carbide resizing die if you'll be loading straight walled cases (.38, 9mm, .44, .45 etc...)
This one is metal.
It's a little rusty.
I have an RS3 that I started using in the early 80s. Mine is steel/iron & still works great.
G'luck with the cleanup! I think you will like it if all goes well for ya getting it cleaned up!
And.... If by chance you end up not liking it, & you decide to part with this one in the future, I would likely be interested in it.

This must be an old one. It doesn't have the screw in bushing for the different size dies.
Only the 7/8" hole.
I no longer have a Reloader Special but the last one I had was cast iron.As far as know none of the older RS's had a screw in die bushing. They are good presses for normal reloading.
Very good press that can be found at reasonable prices.
The RCBS parts book should help: http://rcbs.com/RCBS/media/RCBSMedia...Parts_Book.pdf
Cleaned it up some. Not as bad as i thought it would be.

My RS-2 is an aluminum frame and no cut for primer feed tube attachment.
It's always good to get a neglected tool up and running again.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."
The older ones, like that one and mine, are basically a cast iron RCBS JR-3 with RS written on them, instead of JR.

That one looks identical to my JR model.

That's because it's an RS 6 model.
My RS is my first press. Stamped 78 on top. It's still on my bench, next to the Redding T7.
I've always wondered what RS stood for.
Now I know. Reloaders Special.
Reloader's Special had a better marketing ring than did Junior Reloader.
Back when I first started loading, by buying one, RCBS packaged these presses and all of the basic essentials, including a coupon for your choice of a die set for common cartridges, in one big box. All of these years later the single thing from that big box that isn't still used and valued as a good to great loading item is RCBS case lube; which is awful, sticky, indelible, messy, and case denting goo.

RCBS case lube = STP rebottled. Buy in 55 gal drums, rebottle, and tripple the price. Good business model.
When I ran out I put STP on my lube pad. Same result.
