    S&W 629 4 In

Guys need help or recommendations on a holster for my 629 4in . Looking for something with a thumb break belt holster , high ride , tight to the body . Been looking online just wondering if anybody here carries and what they prefer . Thanks in advance .

I like the Bianchi 5 BHL for my 629, 4", both std bbl and Mtn Gun. I use the same holster for the 329PD. It is a little sloppy for the Mdl 69, 4-1/4", but it will work in a pinch, until I find something that fits better.

Shuz, how does that 69 shoot? I swore off new S&W revolvers after the last Mountain Gun but am tempted by the 69.

I have a Triple K Carrylite I like for my 4" 629. Not as nice as the Bianchi but about half the cost.

I have Cyclone, cross draw. High and tite, it is comfortable and out of the way and easy draw. I
even have them for 83/8" barrels. I think number 111 Bianchi.

Same here. Bianchi 111. Mine has two belt loop areas and can be worn crossdraw or right hand carry, high and tight. Cross draw has butt raked forward, and right hand carry has muzzle angled toward rear. Very comfortable.

Ill second the Bianchi 5BHL. I carry my 5inch 629 in it. My redhawk and my 627 fit in it just fine too.

DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard. Picked up one for my 4.2 Redhawk and immediately branched out to other sizes for other wheelguns. Rides a bit tighter than the 5BHL - having the double pancake slots makes a difference.
    WWJMBD?

These are what I like. They are similar to the Bianchi 5 BH, but with a covered trigger guard. I make my own, but I think you can get one from White leather works.

My 629 hoots very well all it has had is a steady diet of 429421's . I also have a Tarus in 4in and a Redhawk .I wear the Tarus in a leather cross draw or the Ruger in same holster when I'm at our land .I wanted to carry the S&W as a daily carry in the winter .

Take a look at the Sourdough holster by Simply Rugged. It rides high, tight and doesn't need a thumb break to keep the gun in place. The design protects the gun from you and you from the gun. It really is a fine holster. I used several of them.

    Tony,
I bought mine used at a good price, but I'm not real happy with it. The single action trigger pull buried my RCBS gauge, but I was able to get it down to a more manageable 48 ounces, by installing a Wolff 11 lb rebound slide spring and polishing the underside of the rebound slide. However the gun has always been rather "gritty" when thumbing back the hammer, and there is at least two times it did not "carry up" without some difficulty. As far as shooting, it is OK, but nuthin to brag about. Trigger has a slight bump, or rough spot, right before let-off.

Red ramp front sight instead of my preferred Patridge. I'd gladly trade mine for another 329PD. I'll tinker with it for a little longer, but I should really send it back to Smith to have them work on the carry up issue. When and if I do, I hope they don't give me any "heartburn" over my polishing off the black coating that they put on the rebound slide.--Shuz
