Got a call from a friend that runs a lgs and he said they just got a few cases of cci 22 short in, 3.20 a box of 50. He is holding 2 bricks for me.
they have plenty of cci sv 22lr at same price.

Not that I have a use for 22 shorts, but I haven't seen them in many years.
I used to use a lot of CCI .22 Short HP for coon hunting, the little bullet would reliably get inside the skull and not exit.

we always used .22 shorts at hog-killin' time 'cause my grampaw said anything bigger 'tore up too much meat'.
I use them in my old Winchester 62A to teach my grandkids when they first start because of the low noise, have one grandkids that shoots very good but has always been sensitive to load noises, wouldn't even ride in any of my muscle cars.
I used short hollow points for squirrel hunting when I was about 10 years old. They were cheaper and quieter than long rifle and just as accurate at short distances.
My father wouldn't let me take a long shot(anything over 30 yards), so I was usually right under the squirrel when I shot it.
When fall came around, I supplemented the groceries quite a bit since I was always in the woods.
I killed many rabbits with shorts whe I was a kid. I could buy shorts for 25 cents, longs were 30 and long rifles 35. It was hard to scratch up 25. My son was up from Florida a month ago and asked if I knew where he could buy shorts as he needed some for a friend and couldn't find them in zFlorida. We found some in lgs, Remington @ $7.00 a box. He took a brick. His friend uses them for small varmits in a populated area. Those Remington's are quiet.
I love .22 shorts. Especially when I'm shooting them in my Colt Lightning. Those little Boolits are a lot of fun.

I like CB caps as much as shorts. They both can drop small edible game animals and deal with vermin with little noise and a shorter danger fan. I really good air gun can do so as well but at lesser ranges.
You do have to have a rifle that handles these low velocity rounds with the best possible accuracy, but most .22 rifles do so anyway.
I saw shorts in our LGS Friday. $3.50 for 50.
I like shorts. In the S/L/LR guns, I can get load up more boowits. :O)
Some shorts have higher velocity than some LR rounds. Just sayin.
