What value do RCBS primer strips have?

I have a friend that has a number of RCBS strips that have never been in a machine. They were some of what the company was able to get back during the shortage a few years ago and had the primers manually ejected from them for use in automated machines. The strips were then put in buckets vs being thrown away. What value do they have now that RCBS has decided to move away from strip fed machines?

That would be nothing, they are made from plastic.

Gosh... If I ever thought I would stumble into an RCBS that needed them.... A big bucket of strips would be nice..... Some praise them...some curse them.....

Some still use them. Grafs & sons lists them at $6.78 for a package of 8 strips.

I still use them, APS system is very fast. Where did you hear RCBS is moving away from them? I am still trying to get hold of some yellow strips to load my WLR primers into.

Didn't hear anything but the new pro chucker 5 and 7 presses went back to tube feed.

Sent you a PM on yellow strips.

When they made the new pro chucker series of progressive, they used the tube fed primer delivery system and have no plans to offer the APS system anymore. It was a news release on their web site, but I can't seem to find it.

I kinda liked the idea but if yiu bought the strips primed, they were CCI. The strip loader followed. Was looking at finally getting away from press and hand priming and going with a bench mount when I heard RCBS was fazing the system out.

As VHoward posted. Best avenue for resale would be GB I would think to get it out to the biggest audience.

I actually prefer them for hand priming.. Between the Lee Pro 1000's I have, I pretty much have given up on priming on-press. I'm not brave enough to try any sort of tube fed press.

PM me with info on both large and small.. I'll buy a bunch.

I've been using the strip prime since it first came out.
Wouldn't go back to the tube.
    I don't think I've ever worn out a strip.
CCI should buy them back and reload them.

I'd be happy to take the unused primer strips off your hands

PM me if interested in working out a deal.

I buy the APS strips for small pistol when they're cheaper than the tray packs. In fact I just received 8000 primers today in the APS strips. I don't have the APS system so I just punch the primers out of the strips onto my table 25 at a time. There is no value for the strips after the fact unless someone has the opposite problem and needs the strips to fill with their tray packed primers.
