Kind of OT for this part of the forum, but can anyone point me in the direction of loaddata using Vithavouri powders? Here in Norway only Vithavouri and Norma powders is available, making shotshellreloading close to hopeless.

I might be able to find some recipes for Vihtavuori powders but they are all in Finnish. What do you need?
All and any 12gauge data is velcome. Slugdata would be very interesting.
Problem is translation, don't have the energy to translate all recipes. Here is a list of some recipes from a Finnish reloading retail store:
http://www.unlimitedammo.fi/reseptit.html
Finnish 101:
Hylsy = shell
Nalli = primer
Ruuti = powder
Välitulppa = wad
Haulit = shot
Lähtönopeus = muzzle speed
Paine = pressure
Mittauslämpötila = temperature
Lyijy = lead
Teräs = steel
pit. = pituus = length
Resepti nro = recipe number
Niklattu = nickel plated
Kehittelyssä = under development
Let me know what you are interested in and I will make a translation for that recipe. As always with reloading nobody takes any responsibility for recipes.
thanks alot, this is worth gold for us norwegians!
What does "uusi" mean?
uusi = New
blysmelter,
You may want to contact Jeannie Bolda from the company. jbolda@kaltron.com She is a rep and can hook you up with published data. As a matter of fact, I'm trying to get their reload manual, too.

I don not think Vithavouri publishes shotshell data, at least they do not here in Europe.
If you do find published data for the VV N3xx series in shotguns, please post where you got it. The last published data I have for VV shotgun loads is from their 1996 manual and the powders it lists are no longer made and have no direct equivalents in the current production products.
In general,
N310 closely resembles Bullseye
N320 closely resembles Red Dot
N330 closely resembles Green Dot
N340 closely resembles Herco
N350 closely resembles Blue Dot
Of course being close doesn't mean data is interchangeable.
If anyone has slug-loads please share! .690 roundball or Lee slug prefered, but all velcome!
Hi
I just start load .690 RB slugs and this recipy is quite practical.
For Sellier & Bellot Gold Medal plastic cases. Cases are trimmed to length 61 mm.
powder = Vihtavuori N330 1,7 g
primer = Winchester 209
wad = fiber (BPI) 0,5"/buffer/.690"RB/buffer/overshot card
roll crimp
Under ball 10 Auto caliber cace buffer/then .690" RB/top ball 40 S&W caliber case buffer. Bottom buffer makes ball goes center of barrel. Top buffer eliminate KB event.
Citation from Shotgunworld
"The reason for this is that without the buffer around the ball the over-shot card could get "over-run" by the ball thus resulting in a barrel constriction and potentially a Kabooom !"
I dont know yet my slugs pressure and speeds, but meaby soon...
Use your own responsibility!
Editing wrong powder measure. 1,8g => 1,7g ... SORRY!

Exellent! Having a 690-roundballmold underway I see some slugloading in the near future
From the Lyman Shotshell #4:
Federal Gold Medal 2 3/4" hull, Fed 209A primer,19.0 of N3SL, Fed 12S3 wad, 1 1/8 oz. shot,1180 fps,9300 psi.
same hull, same primer,same wad, 22.5 of N3SM,1195 fps. 7300 psi.
same hull, same primer, WWAA12 wad, 22.5 of N3SM,1207 fps, 7200 psi.
same hull, same primer,Fed 12S4 wad, 1 1/4 oz. shot, 26.0 of N3SH, 1252 fps,9200 psi.
Powder is in grains, not grams. I have no metric conversion chart available. These will get you started. CB.
If you want your children to follow in your footsteps, be careful where you walk.
Beware the man that only owns one gun; he probably knows how to use it.
Some things never change; others change more slowly.
Unfortunately, all those powders are discontinued. That was the early data that I had too, but they have nothing for N310-N350 which i the current series.
