I'm at my wits end. I have a set of Tasco 1898F scope rings and have NO idea what they are for. Can anyone help me with this? I've been to the Tasco site and it's basically useless
Thanks in advance for any help:

Not sure, but I think that the Tasco Scope Rings were made for them by an Australian company for a while. But that company went broke. I cannot remember the name of the company. Wish I could help more, maybe the 1898 might refer to Mauser, though which model (military, commercial, whatever), I have no idea.

You have a photo of these' thing's?
without seeing them, hard to tell. they made some that I think fit a redfield base. the piece that turned into the front hole was separate and opposing set screws in the ring tightened the stud in the ring. I had some, may still have them, somewhere
Had a brain storm (fart, whatever), I THINK that the name of the company that originally made the mounts was HILVER. Made them for TASCO and Burris (some others too, I think). The method of attaching the rings to the base, is it a stud for each ring projecting through the base, something like this......

If so, then what the RINGS fit is the base, and the base is specific to the rifle. I have not been able to find anything on the old Hilver company or any of their information re what fits what.......

Tasco World Class ??? That name rings a bell, but I think Tasco the company has gone broke or been bought out a couple of times since they marketed them.
I don't remember them being on the market for very long here in the U.S., so chances of finding anything to mate up with them are slim to none.

Tasco was purchased by Bushnell. These would not be a ring and base made as one piece? A picture will help tremendously.
