    Question Smartwatch

Anyone have or know about Smartwatches????
Friend of mine is looking for something that is able to find the location of a person on a Ipad or computer.
    Like a tracking device.
Can't be a cell phone. Tried that already. Lost to many of them.
I was thinking a Smartwatch is kind of like a computer.
Hoping it has some kind of locating app in it.

I don't own a smart watch, but I know a little about them.

I don't think they're able to do what you're describing. The problem is that the smart watches don't have their own data connection capabilities as far as I know. They connect to the phone or tablet with bluetooth. So really they're more of a slave to the phone than a mini phone.

What time of person is this for? I've done a bit of searching, and it looks like there are some products out there with this sort of thing in mind.

Take him to a vet, and get a chip placed in his ear. He shouldn't loose that.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

I have a smart watch and that is correct, you have to have a phone connected to it. There was supposed to be a watch released that was going to be able to connect to a carrier but that has not happen, that I know of. Also you have to charge them about every night, if you don't by the second day you may be looking at a dead watch.

I would think the watch that connects to a carrier would have even less battery time. The battery in my watch is one of the better ones at about 410mAh compare that to phones that have 2,700+mAh, and my watch does not have GPS (said to kill the battery quicker).

So that is probably not a good solution.

There are small GPS trackers available (2"x2"x1"), however, I think most, if not all, also require you to pay a monthly service charge.

    Couple of examples:

We're looking for something for my friends father.
He's in the early stage of dementia and get lost sometimes.
    Got lost three times already.
He's lost a bunch of cell phones already, so don't want to do that anymore.
He lives in Waikiki, so we need to know where he is as much as possible.
Condo security is helping to keep and eye on him. It's not part of their job, but their doing my friend a big favor.
They records when he leaves and if he's gone to long, they call my friend.
He lives alone. Will not move to a care home.
    Stress for us all.
