45 ACP small primer brass

Has any one played with this brass? I am shooting bullseye with a 170 wadcutter. I have a few pieces I am going to load and see if there is any difference.
I have some extra brass I would swap for some small primer 45acp. Would like 100 pieces, maybe more.

Out of curiosity, what headstamps have you found? The only ones Ive seen are federal.

I've loaded a bunch of small pistol primed .45 acp brass. You'll find it in Blazer, Federal, Speer, Winchester, RWS and Fiochi, and there may be others. For bullseye shooting, you may find it more accurate, as some have reported that result for bullseye shooting.

I use the same data for both primer sizes.

I'm a user of the SPP brass. Mainly I stick with Federal and Blazer the headstamps appear to be out of the same factory but I may be wrong.

I have had the best results shooting small primer by using WSPM primers using 185gr SWC with Hi-Tek coating.

According to Starline Brass, you lose a little velocity using small primer 45acp brass than large primer. I load all my 45acp carry ammo with small primer brass because it has a little more brass at the web.

It's all I use. Most of my shooting is in in calibers that use a small primer, so I mostly only have to buy small primers, I actually have seen an improvement in accuracy with target loads of bullseye powder. I'm currently using a large batch of blazer but I also have federal, Winchester, Speer, and a couple fiochhi

I have thousands of the SPP brass, and one third that amount in LPP. I have loaded the same Lee 230 gr. boolit and same powder charge in both types and find no difference in accuracy.

All of the Federal-CCI-Speer-Lawman are ATK product and weigh the same and can be mixed within a lot with no change in powder charge or velocity.

My experience has been that small pistol MAGNUM primers produce the same velocity as large pistol standard.

Small pistol STANDARD primers produce about 30-50 fps lower velocity than a large standard primer of the same brand in the same make of case.

When using STANDARD small pistol primers it takes an increase in powder charge of about 0.2-0.3 grain to match the velocity of a large primer case when loading 200-grain H&G 68 wadcutters in .45 ACP using a powder similar to Bullseye, 231, Clays or TiteGroup.
