Visiting my brother and don't have access to a hardness tester. Any ideas on what this might be?

Based solely on google results, it seems it is most likely 50/50 Sn/Pb

Defiantly solder bar, not sure if it is 50/50 but that's as good of a guess as any.

I have an ingot of Federated Castomatic Linotype in a similar form. If you look at the opposite side, you can see it is divided into two parts so it can be broken apart. Have you tapped it with a hammer to see if it rings? Given the reference to Castomatic, I would suspect it might be enrichment alloy so will be high in antimony and sound like it.

put it in your table vice and bend it over with a wrench or a hammer
if it's high antimony it will break easily.
if it's high tin [solder/babbit] you'll hear it moan and groan as you bend it.
