I'd almost bet that was meant for pouring Babbitt bearings.
It looks very awkward to try to pour into a mold.

I'm with Robert, wouldn't work for me at all. The little Lyman dippers can't be beat for me and my 2-hole molds. That thing looks huge, I bet it's for bearings like suggested, or maybe plumbers.
