    The Whole Dan Family

I don't post often- mostly just read but since I took a pic of my cash cows for the DW Forum, I thought I'd share it here as well and put out a feeler to fill the holes in the Monson collection. I "need" a 22M, 732.20, and a 708 (or 709- not 'lil dan). So....if you happen to have and want to part, please contact me...

I use to see that everyday that I went to work...........I worked at Dan Wesson in 1975-1976 and when I left I was in charge of the bluing room, I averaged just over 250 guns a day.

That's a great pic of the Dan family. I love the blued Dans so guess I can thank Doc Highwall for such a beautiful revolver.
I know a guy here in Sacramento the has Dan Wesson's personal carry gun. He has about 3 pages of documentation with it. After Mr. Wesson's death his gun was givin to a gun writer that he liked a lot. The guy that has it now bought it from the writer along with all the documentation.
It has been a few years since I saw it last but I believe it was a model 12, 357 blued with a 2 inch barrel.
he offered to sell it to me but had no money at the time, I believe he still has it.

I have a newer DW Valor bobtail 45 1911. I guess they don't count but it sure is a sweet production gun

I have a few other DWs, to include some pork and a few PMs. They just don't "fit" in the collection pictured above...

do all the dan wesson's have changeable barrels or was it only a certain model. my 357mag has two barrels, one short and one long and it only takes a few minutes to swap them around. this was the first pistol I ever bought, I was 18 and could not buy ammo for it so I started loading my own.

Dan Wesson did make one model that I know of that was a fixed barrel, I have never seen one.
I have 4 Dan Wesson revolver and two Dan Wesson 1911s, a Cbob and a PM7 both are outstanding shooting guns. Can never have to many DWs.

The Palmer plant produced some fixed barrel 357s.
