I was looking at castpics for toppunch reference for the Lee 105swc.
It list both Lyman #402 and #467. Which one fits best?
I am casting a soft lead/tin alloy and need a good fit to minimize nosedeformation.

I us a flat top punch and it works great and it helps if your sizer is off center.
I tried a flat toppunch for my 140swc with 20-1 alloy. Deformed the nose.
Just ordered the 105swc mold, havent recieved it yet.
Would be nice with one toppunch for both, but the 105swc will be used the most and is my priority regarding fit.
I never could find one that fit well enough so I used a flat punch but used epoxy putty to get the shape. But really it's easier to tumble lube them.
Disclaimer: Reloading and casting I only look at cents/round and ignore any other costs
Neither is a good fit, I tried them both.
Best solution is a flat punch or use a small ball of epoxy putty to create a custom fit .
Soft boolits may be better served with the custom fit nose.
I used J-B Weld Epoxy Putty to make one a flat punch and the other a custom fit.
With 50-50 clip on WW's and range scrap the flat punch worked just fine. I'm sure the fitted one will work on soft alloy boolits.
