    Henry AR-7 Question

Just purchased a new one at the new Cabela's in the Cincinnati / Westchester area got it at their grand opening price.
The manual suggests using higher velocity ammo for consistent operation. Due to the cost of .22's what works best for most?

I have one and have shot what ever I have in 22 long rifle.

I have had the thing many years and shoot it from time to time.

Had a hunting stripped gown 1953 Jeep and kept the rile in tha jeep for a long time.

Sold the jeep when my sons quite hunting with me about 30 years ago.

The sons shot a lot of ammo thru the rifle when they were young.

The rifle always shot what Imput in the mag,

I have one I got a few years back. I haven't shot it a whole lot, but it's easily digested any bulk pack .22 ammo I've fed it, mostly Remington and Federal.

The bulk federal auto match is meant for semi auto .22's so I would give that a try. If it doesn't cycle any bulk ammo get some cci stingers.

The Charter Arms version I had ~25 years ago seemed to like the more expensive stuff better, when it did decide to work.

Since the Colt Woodsman and New Frontier .22 that I had at the same time would both shoot better groups, I wasn't sorry to see that one go. It was handy to store everything in the stock, never tested it to see if it would actually float though.

I have a Henry variety AR-7. Mine will reliably shoot the federal bulk ammo. But it does not like the Winchester X-pert bulk ammo. Cci stingers and mini mags are flawless out of it.
If grasshoppers carried .45's the birds wouldnt mess with them.

The Charter Arms version of the rifle that I had for about a dozen years had a likening for hotter .22`s like CCI ammo. It wasn`t the most accurate thing on the block, and when my vision started going I couldn`t use those rudimentary sights.Robert

Armalite version - likes CCI Mini-Mags

I bought one back in the early 70's to carry in my boat. I don't remember who made it and it's in the safe somewhere. It would digest anything I put in it. I hasn't been fired in 30 years. Maybe I'll take it out next time i go shooting, I just hate to waste the impossible to get rimfire ammo. I have maybe 20,00 rounds in my ammo locker that I bought for $8 a brick and just can't seem to feel like shooting it up.
