I started reloading in 1968 after returning home from my tour of duty. Took a job in a Gun Store in 1970 and the owner who became my mentor, started me in casting. I'm now 68 Later David

Looks like with age 52, I am one of the young kids on the block here Well, started casting about 10 years ago, but still mix it up with FMJs for some loads where I do not have gas check molds.
Wow! Over 40% of us casters are between 61 and 75! As for me, I'm 74 and have been casting since 1962, when I was 21, in the USAF, and poor as a church mouse!
It's all chicken, even the beak!
My first set of 40 cal bullets fell into water at the age of 22, that was only a year ago.
I'll keep doing it until lead it's extinct
Still have a couple hundred 311291 bullets that my dad cast back about '65, over a wood fire! It was just a way to save money back then. 50 years later it's formed into a habit, and I roll my own even though I can afford "factory" now.
I'm 63, new to Cast Boolits, and have cast bullets for the first time at my buddy's house a few weeks ago. I'm hooked, and I'm slowly acquiring equipment so I can cast my own. I have lead, an electric hot plate, a cast iron pot & a ladle. My next purchase is a Lee .358 mould & Lee push-through sizer. To be followed by a .430 240 grain mould & sizer.

I started almost 2 years ago, am now 26. Best hobby yet! (Yes better than shooting and loading) Finally got everything in the basement, just don't have the exhaust hood and fan in place to carry smoke and fumes outside. Soon, cause I'm ready to start winter casting!
For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8,9
i've been casting on and off, for 25 of my 30 years! dad taught me alot about it, as he cast boolits for his .38spl target loads in the 90's, i currently cast for 25-20, 25-35,8x60 krop, 30-40, .577, 577-450, 11mm for the chassepot, 11x60, 10.4x38 and do some casting for friends as well
Interesting poll and good stories.
Only wish the age increments for the bar graph were the same. 20-30 is 11 years; 31-40 is 10 years and subsequent increments are 5 years. Skewed graphically for the 40 and under crowd but then again, I'm being a real funsucker here aren't I? 😁
Anyway, glad to see so many enjoy casting. I'm just getting started myself.
59 and casting about 12-13 years.
