Who made those TP hollow pointers?

I remember a while back somebody made some top punches that would swage out a HP. . .who was that? or has my brain completely distorted something different?

is it too much stress on an RCBS LAM II to swage out a HP on some quenched WW cast boolits? I could air cool- but water droppin is just sooooo easy

thats putting the horse before the cart though.

also- could this magic tp pin be used in different calibers? the big thing for me is I'm fairly certain I need to have a HP boolit to hunt where I am. no solids (again my memory could have distorted this) but in any event- I think it'll be a good conversation.

I have taken TP's and chucked them up in my little lathe and drilled the size hole I wanted to install a pin. I then drilled and tapped the collar area for a set screw to keep the pin in place. I make a slight taper to the pin and harden it. I use either air or water hardening drill stock. I use mainly air cooled boolits but if they were sized soon it would probably still work. May not get the depth of HP you want however. Sometimes I have to make a custom TP as the normal one doesn't hold the diameter of the nose and the bullet will bump up on the nose. Mark

Nothing special and the nose section will expand according to the pin dia and depth. Use skinny pin and lube and it will swage pretty hard boolits. For special purposes only ...
