One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)
the less that outlet shares with, the safer you will be in the long run. I also opt for the dedicated circuit. this way at that location, you can upgrade to anything you need. As for extension cords I don't own less than 12 ga, and often use 10ga. and I wired my house for many of the above reasons.

The rules of the range are simple at best, Should you venture in that habitat, Don't cuss a man's dog, be good to the cook, And don't mess with a cowboy's hat. ~ Baxter Black
Anytime you introduce an extension cord to a Lead Pot, it's asking for problems. And at 50' could start a fire. Personal advice would be use a minimum of 12ga copper wire and put an outlet where you do your casting. I've seen extension cords melt, smoke and catch on fire, it's not worth the possible consquences. Just my personal thoughts.
