Opening a big can of worms.....
Which is better, a Lyman 45 or 450 lube sizer???????
Just got a 45. Have a 450. Trying to decide which to keep.

I like the 45..much better alignment of top punch to die mouth..but then I also use the old Ideal No.1 1897 tool.. this one has even better punch/die alignment! only .22 & 6mm though. nither one is as strong as a 450..but for those jobs a reloading press type bullet reducing die is used.
Am I correct that the dies are the same????
The dies are the same, and I would keep the one that has the best alignment.
I have both a 45 and a 450 mounted on my bench. The 45 I use for softer alloyed bullets, the 450 I use for the harder alloys.
There is no maxim which states "You must have only one."
I was going to respond to this earlier, but I couldn't find the thread I wanted to link to. Well I found it, while the whole thread is interesting, post #10, where Gear describes the short coming of a 450.

Keep them both! You have to have a back-up.
I have the 45 because that is what I bought at an EBay auction. I was just trying to bump up the price for the seller. But my $3 in the last minutes were enough. So, now I am the proud owner of the 45. It requried considerable cleaning. But it works well and I have no complaints. Currently I only lube 7mm bullets.
By all means keep both, one never knows when you might have one go down, I have 3- 45's , makes me warm and fuzzy

I have only one (4500). Would love to have two but no $$. So, keep them both as advice from someone on the other side of the tracks. Changing lube is the worst task on the face of the earth, and for this reason alone you need two. JMHO. I thought I would change lube now and then. Did it once and survived the frustration. If not now you'll want to use a different lube sooner or later. 'Nough said... I just use the same lube on everything, though I am very happy with that, given the pluses and minuses.
Two would be nirvana...
