    Boil Dinner

I don't remember if I have posted this before if it is 205, sorry.
Slice 1/2 cabbage, red or green add a sliced apple or two, carrots, potatoes and polish sausage. Add Fresh corn, 1 cob per person if in season 20 minutes before serving the rest. If outdoors boil it for a 1 1/2 hours over a fire in an old milk can. If indoors bake for 1/12-2 hrs in a 350 F oven. Serve with HP or BBQ sauce.

The wife and I were just talking earlier about doing a shrimp boil. We have not done one but have been to a few. If we add shrimp to the above, what would we have to change for it all to work right? I do know the shrimp boil we attended was mighty good. To serve it was dumped in the middle of the table on old newspaper. We all dug in like it was our final meal.

MT. Try throwing a ham hock in with a few more potatoesin to pick up the extra saltiness.

To above basic recipe, add 1 green bell pepper, 1 celery stalk and one onion per person, plus 1 Serano, and 2 jalapenos for the pot. When you add the corn cobs in the last 20-30 minutes, you can also add a tomato per person if you like, then layer the top with your shrimp or crawfish, catfish fingers, blue crabs if you gott'em. AND don't be timid with Chef Paul Prudholmes all purpose salt free New Orleans seasoning, or Old Bay if you prefer, over the fish.... Drizzle the fish first with olive oil before seasoning covering to seal the steam in! HINT - We use leftover keg beer from Saturday night instead of water for the boil and dig in after church on Sunday....

Look up a recipe for "Frogmore Stew", a low country favorite; it has all of the good stuff in it.
