Anyone form 9.3x62mm from 30-06 brass

I am hearing that the rim is smaller on the 30-06 brass but every diagram I see it is the same size ! Is it just a pain to do or is there truth about the rim diameter ?

I personally haven't done it, but have heard of others up north here doing it successfully when the 9.3x62 brass was harder to find than it is now

No issues, do it and report back,
Normally folks expand the neck to
.375 and then size down to insure headspace it correct

    I make 9.3 X 57 from 30-06. No problems.

for the 9.3x62mm Mauser from 30-06 the way I do it is
    1. size the brass through .338-06 sizer die
    2. size the brass through .375 H&H Mag. sizer die
    3. size the brass through 9.3x62mm Mauser sizer die
    4. prime brass and load with 40.0gr. of H4895
    5. set 285gr. cast boolit long to make it so that bolt has to be pushed down to close.
    6. go shoot it
I did it just to learn how. But I do prefer to get new PPU brass from graf and sons

I hear you on necking up to a larger than bullet size then making a false shoulder to fire form ! Thank you all for the advice and the rim is not bigger on normal brass you buy like Privi at Grafs ?
    Anyone shooting cast boolits ?

now days the rim will be the same as the 30-06, the original design was slightly bigger , you will not notice the difference unless you put a Mic to it

the base diameter of the x62 is .003" larger than the '06. You will end up with a slight bulge. About six resizings and the body will tear off when you go to extract the fired case. The PRIVI 9,3x62 brass is a perfect fit, and reasonably priced.

I've shot lots of Federal 06 brass, anealed and blown out in my 9.3x62 Husky. I load with 6 gr bullseye, a tissue wad, fill case up to shoulder with corn meal and plug the case mouth with tissue. Point skyward and fire. Trim to square up the case mouth and she's good to go.
