    pp boolets

I am having a problem with cast sliks for paperpatching. My problem is the paper will not stick to the bullet when wet. Do I wash the boolets or what? Thanks for your answer, Hank45

Mix an egg white into a bowl of water and use this to moisten your paper strips. This has been used successfully for hundreds of years.

Sure Hank, just put it in a ziplock baggie and freeze it.

are you pushing on the paper when rolling it?
a little stretch to the paper will help it shrink better.
and the surface you use to roll the paper onto the boolit can make a difference, a mouse pad works well, a Formica counter top doesn't.

Tatume, I am using a cigeretts roller for the first time to see if it rolls a better patch. Hank

I've never tried a cigarette roller, but as RFR says, when you roll the patch you should keep some tension on it to slightly stretch the damp paper. That way when it dries it will shrink and get tight.

About the water, just use a large soup bowl of water and mix in an egg white. It doesn't take much, it should be very dilute. Also, don't whip it into meringue. Just mix it, don't froth it.

I've heard of PP bullets being done with JoJobo oil. The posting by Don McDowell in the PP section states that a dry patch works as well as a wet application. You may want to read those postings. Later Fairshake

Tatume, I did what you said but I used 1/2 of a plastic coffee scoop for the egg white and it seemed to word fine, but I won"t know until the snow goes away in the spring. Thanks for your answer Hank
