favourite of the moment is a Marlin 336 in 30/30, my first of this breed with boolits - owned a 336 way back in the day strictly for hunting with factory ammo, for some reason i never took to it and traded it in on a 94AE - this 336 has been chopped and made the way i want a carbine to be . .. with boolits its a keeper.

Marlin 1895G and 1952 vintage 336 in 35 Rem caliber. I'd love to find a good deal on an earlier Savage 99 for my dad, though.
I keep trying to press on Five of those buttons but they keep going out.

I have to vote Winchester as the only lever I own is a Winchester 1873 and I love it.
Marlin 39A(first one) and a 336W in .30-30
I'm at equal parts Marlin and Savage now. I might buy one more Marlin in 44 Mag. But there are at least three more Savages I need to buy. For rifle calibers there is no finer lever in the field than a 99.
I had a Marlin 45-70 that was a great brush gun, and took a an elk with it. I traded that for a Winchester 1894 in .44 magnum and am plenty pleased with that rifle.
I've got an older Puma in .45 colt and a newer Rossi in .357 magnum. Both of these rifles have performed well too, but I did need to do some tuning on the .357 with the follower and springs, but now it functions flawlessly.
I like the Winchester the best though. Something about the image that an old SRC evokes in my mind's eye...and it is a blast to shoot.
My fav is Marlin, have two: 1895 in 45/70 and a 336 in 30-30 (the big one is favorite fav).
Used to have a Rossi in .357 a long time ago....wish I had it back.
Listed Winchester as my preference in post #265; didn't specify what model(s).
On horseback, I've always carried a Model '94 SRC in 30 WCF in the scabbard. Also have loops in the center back of my gun belt and the wife's gun belt for 6 spare 30-30 cartridges.
At the range I enjoy shootin' the old '73s and Mdl '86s. But, for the most fun, you just can't beat a Model '76 Winchester. Mine's in 45-60 w/half octagon barrel, single set trigger and tang sight. A modest charge of 5744 or 4198 under an original Ideal 457191 292-300 grain plain base boolit cast to about 9+ BHN puts a smile on everybody's face, every time.

Marlin 1895G, the Hammer of Thor, and extremely accurate with 300gr flat point gas checked boolit and max loads of RL7
Marlin 336 35 Rem caliber, made in 1952. It was my Grandpa's gun.
Would love to find an older Savage 99 in 300 or 250 Savage. A 99 in 300 was my dad's first deer rifle. He pawned it for cash to feed his family when times got tough.
I have 3 Winchester 94 30-30's one marlin 336w 30-30, and a henry h001 22, and 2 rossi 92's in 44mag and 45 colt! next will be a marlin 45-70 1895g or 1895gbl!!
I realize that I voted a few years ago when the poll was first posted ... but I've not revisited in awhile.
There were never any doubts about the results - but I am somewhat surprised at the margin of victory.
What you think about you do ... what you do, you become.
Well I primarily have Marlin's
1895 Guide Gun in .45-70
336 in .30-30 this is configured as a lever scout rifle.
And I have my eye on a 336 in .35 Remington as a project rifle...But I am torn I will be looking for advise on this one.
i would have to pick my original 1936 long tang winchester 71 with bolt peep.standard rifle.john
I really like my 1873 Winchester in 44-40 along with my Model 94 in 32spl in a takedown

I like almost every option up there and I own several different brands but I went with marlin because my current favorite lever gun is one of my Marlins.
