Need help picking out a mold

    125ish gn
hollow point or full conversion ability.
    .356 to .357
    at least 5 cavity

I kinda like this bullet design. will it work with tumble lube? or does it need some grooves for tumble lubing? http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=35-125Q-D.png

The three I know about are accurate, noe and mp. lyman might be better than lee, i suppose.

    thanks for the help

    Mallen,

Have a look at the NOE 358 124Gr. TC RG mould.
It can be either a HP, FP or a cup point.

They also have a 358 135 GR. FN in RG.

NOE,s HP moulds are as easy to cast with as a regular mould.

It's only available as a four cavity hollowpoint but MP's 359-125 is worth a look. It's an accurate bullet in everything I've shot it in. I believe it's available in 6 cavity as a solid, 135 grains.

    Mallen,

It is a 358 that casts at 359-360 that you size down to 358.
They are available in 2 and 4 cavity. RG-2 RG-4

358 should be the correct size for 357, no sizing necessary.

The only lee molds I have are for slugs and buck. The rest are Lyman, NOE, LBT..

Lee doesn't say much about prepping their aluminum molds when you get it. But they should be prepped beyond smoking and heating.

    1) wash it in soap and hot water, get a toothbrush in there, and dry it with a clean towel.
    2) attach handles.
    3) heat cycle the mold (72F to 375F, repeat 3-4 times) to help seat the alignment pins and start the oxidization build up on the cavities.
    4) pre-heat the mold before smoking the cavities lightly with a lighter. A well-seasoned mold won't need to be smoked due to the oxidation build-up.

99% of people buying cheap molds won't care about squeezing as much quality out of it as they can, but they could be.

Run the temperature up to about 350F to 375F and then let cool back down
to room temperature - do this 3 or 4 times

set on top of my pot for 40 minutes will accomplish this?

Pot will probably be 700F give or take. I'd set an oven and put it in and take it out, let cool 15-20 minutes, and repeat.
