    35 Remington followed me home

Marlin 336 in 35 Rem followed me home yesterday. Choice between that and one in 30-30. This one had a sling, Weaver 3-9 (made in China) scope and better finish. Serial No. indicates 1974 manufacture, appears to have been fired little.
Now to find a mold, dies, brass etc.
    Regards

I have one too. As a bear guide in Northern Manitoba years ago I became quite smitten with a client's 336 in .35 rem and determined I must have one some day. It took a lot of years but I finally bought myself a new one 2 years ago. Mine is an excellent cast shooter despite the doom and gloom often reported with micro groove rifling. It also is a fine rifle despite the transitions at Marlin.

I love Swede Nelson's version of the RCBS 200-FN. The shoot very well in my rifle and the big ol flat nose make a tremendous whop when they hit something. Water filled milk jugs turn into 6 foot spray patterns. With a compact 2-7 scope it remains light an handy. Blasphamy to some, the scope allows me to continue to enjoy accurate shooting despite my aging eyes.

35 rem is a great caliber in my opinion ,a bit tricky to find brass and ammo for though . I bought some new win brass from midway a while back at an outrages price but I needed it .later on I got lucky and found a couple hundred rounds of once fired on a local classified then a year or so after found a shoe box almost full from same classified and got the guy down to 50$ all that along with the brass from a few boxes of factory ammo I bought when I 1st got the gun im set for a while .
