In Georgia.
Gonna drag out the front-stuff and paper-patched gear this weekend and send a few downrange to make sure the sights are still true.
Can't wait to get back in the woods.

What actually is primative hunting?
I dont think we have that here.
Do cast boolits qualify?
When I think of primative hunting it is rocks, clubs and spears.
I even got into an argument with an older gent one day that tried to tell me to get into hunting the old fashion way. He used a compound bow and thought that was like the "old days".
I told him to not feed me that garbage. If you want to hunt like the "old days" you need to get a rock or spear or drive the animal off a cliff.
Theres nothing "old days" about a compound bow.
I'm not saying anything bad about compound bows, but even a recurve is more "old timey" than that, but those are too "iffy" for most guys I know.
I told him I'll stick with my cast boolits and live in the not so old "old days".
It been a long day, I guess this might be a rant, though I would call it giving you a hard time.

Our ML hunt opened this morning. I went out with my T/C Cherokee and 45 PRB. Had a fat young spike blacktail standing in full view broadside just outside my shooting envelope (120 yards) with the 45 PRB. Watched him for 20 minutes hoping he would get 15 yards closer and decided I wasn't desperate enough yet but I know where he left the clearcut so will be back this evening sitting on a stump 50 yards closer to the edge. He was fat enough to look real good in the freezer as steaks, burger and breakfast sausage. Hopefully I won't regret this morning's decision.
Oooooh. I'll be checking back to see how you did, Quil!
good luck, man.
A government that robs from Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
Thanks, Paul
My wife filled her doe tag with the Cherokee and 45 PRB. Deer went about 50 feet before dropping. Unfortunately that 50 feet was through heavy blackberry vines and stinging nettle. After the blackberry vine thorns, I left a bigger blood trail than the deer. Still working on my deer but her doe takes care of steaks, burger, and breakfast sausage for quite a while.
Shoulda shot that spike.
