    4064 and 30-06 boolits

Got some 165 rcbs sil's loaded over 31 of 4064 to try out. Is this a good powder for a 20 inch barrel? I know it's a slow powder, and it's my first time out with it.

    thanks,

    Bill

I load 36.0 imr4064 over the lee 155 with no filler, just to get my M1 to cycle. Imr 4064 is just a little slower than imr 4895 which is most peoples prefered powder. Imr4064 is very suitable and you should be able to find plenty of loads here. You may have some burn issues at 31.0 but that sounds like a good starting place, check published data though. Some more will chime in here soon.
