    Two days in the heat!

Made and filled twelve boxes, 12"x9"x6" with some of my lead stash. Six Linotype, three soft lead, and three wheel-weights. Probably need another twelve boxes for the rest of it. Vacation sure is a lot of work...

Well, if you want to extend your vacation, you can come out here and do the same for my stash...

How much do they weigh full? My boxes are 6.5x9.25x4.5 and are 60ish lbs when fairly full when filled with 20 5-5.5lb ingots.

My original boxes were 6.5x9.25x9 and were in the 120 lb range. Needless to say I cut some of them down and made the next 25 half size.

I am going to guess between 150 and 170 pounds. Each box has 125 ish ingots stacked neatly inside. I fill the ingot mold to the top so they usually weigh about 1 1/4 pounds each, some maybe a bit more. I can move it by myself if I had to but two guys can move them easily enough.

Are those 2x6 and 1\2" plywood? I like those! I need to make a few.

No dove tails on the cases? Even the ruskies use dove tails.

I'm impressed. That is the kind of organization I would like to have. In my dotage, however, I may have to make mine half the size. We'll see if I can "get around tuit" after my other hundred or so jobs.

On my 4.5" and 9" tall boxes, I used 3/4 plywood for the bottom and ends with 3/8" plywood on the sides. I glued all joints with a good wood glue and used a finish nail gun. They are more than strong enough for the amount of lead I have in my boxes

Would you mind describing your design here a little bit? It looks like all of the sides are made from 2x6, but there are an extra couple of screw holes near each corner that are too far from the ends so that I can't figure out what they are attached to. Did you put reinforcing corner blocks on the insides of each corner? If you wouldn't mind showing a picture of one of the boxes insides, that would be awesome, too.

Nice work, by the way. Color me jealous.

Yes I ripped 1/2 of a 2x3 for corner braces. These boxes are not pretty (I wish I had more talent) but they are very strong. I will be making a few more and will take some in process pics...
