reloader 11 powder recipes from Lyman manual 1967

A friend asked me if i knew what he could reload with 3 pounds of old reloader 11 powder he came across. After he failed to find any recipes I consulted the reloading guides I inherited from my father. The Lyman manual lists several rifle recipes for RX 11 or reloader 11 powder. Starting numbers on the left, maximum lad data on the right. I hope this helps some folks out.

Several years ago, I acquired an unopened container of Alliant's Reloder 11 powder........actually, it remains unopened! I contacted Alliant's Manager of Customer Services who sent me this information from their manual. These pages have data for both RX 11 AND RX21. DO NOT use the wrong column!

Hey dmitch, that hits the spot!

Member Shaggybull brought over a bunch of R11 in unopened cans and told me to figure this stuff out .............

NOW, I can look like a genius for a change!! .......... or, I could just tell him ........ I am having a hard time ........ bring the rest of it and I'll get back to him .......... naw ......... just kidding!

    Thank you very much!

RX 11 was the very first powder I ever used, in my 30-30, when I first got into reloading back in '79. Worked great too. I got the last 2lbs my LGS had in stock, it was already discontinued by then.

I appreciate this info. It's a big help. Is there any data for Reloader 11 for a .223?

I recall something but I have been stuffing my CZ 527 and American compact with Hdy 55 gr. SX's and RL 11 at some 23 grs. and maybe 4 tenths?

Start low and find your own "oats" however!

    Best regards

    Murray Jackson,

There is only one load listed for the 223 on the sheet I rec'd from Alliant. It lists 25.5 grains of R11 as MAXIMUM under a 55 S.P (3140 FPS) ..........."reduce by 10% to establish a starting load"...... Alliant quote ! Hope this helps...... be safe.
