    Slugging my Marlin 336

Want to slug my Marlin 30-30. What should I use? Where do I get it?

Grease up a oo buck shot pellet and gently tap it through the bore with a close fitting wood dowel and then measure it with a micrometer.

I recommend you not use wood dowels for slugging, they can shatter/splinter and leave a real mess.

I personally use brass rod for slugging, but others report that steel rod protected with electrical tape works well.
