I would not like to hazard a guess what a collector in this country would pay for those. Judging by the price I see on junk pewter here you may have a gold mine.

Got these two today at the flea market. Step Stieff tankards, $8 total, to 2lb 2.4 ounces. One Colonial Williamsburg Restoration CW-55, on P 6
Nice score. Those are far heavier than any tankards I ever gotten and I've gotten my share.

Really, they didn't seem that heavy, I had to double check my scale a couple times to sure to was set to take for something else. But there is weight in the handles, the base on CW one is heavy.
Why is it so important that it is pewter? What is the difference between pewter and regular tin?
I apologize the bad English, I'm Norwegian!

Ok. So pure tin is prefered?

I have used tin and pewter and can't tell the difference. especially on target.

You are after the tin within pewter, so in that aspect yes. On the other hand, here in the states the price/availability between pewter and tin differ, and since tin is the main (by a long shot) ingredient in pewter it is generally more cost effective to use pewter. Plus as the others have said there isn't a noticeable difference.

Thanks for the addition!

From flea market today, 12 oz, $5. Not a steal, but not bad.
My father in law found this tin with a pewter Rabbit on the lid. Got the rabbit off this afternoon and found some writing under it. Mean anything to anyone? I don't know what he paid for it, but it wouldn't have been much.
Hoping I did not miss a good score. Saw some plated stuff at the scrap yard. Stamped EPBM and WR Canada. Google leads me to think this is Electro Plated Britannia Metal. 92% tin, 5% Sb and maybe 2 or 3% copper. WR Canada made silver plate. I did not pick it up, am setting the alarm for early and heading back in the morning.
Werewolf bullets anyone?
If the thin sections are easily bent with thumb pressure and it met the other form factors, I'd give it a go. In my experience, non pewter silver plate does not pass the thumb pressure test.
