A flintlock shotgun is next up on my short list of guns I want before I die.
I am familiar with muzzle loaders but they have all been inlines or percussion.
I know I want a flintlock and from the research I have done I understand a quality lock is key to enjoying a flintlock. I would really like a smoothbore that I can use for small game and dove hunting. What can the experts here recommend for a quality flintlock shotgun? Double barrels would be ideal. The smaller the gauge the better. Also the gun must have a choke. Cylinder bore shotguns are worthless in my opinion at least for hunting.
I understand I may need to go custom and would be happy to hear recommendation for a gunsmith that specializes in flintlocks.
