Great press guy
But 41 Fahrenheit would be a heat wave where I’m at. It was 3 Fahrenheit this morning.

Pallet wood can be a great find sometimes. Was in Indiana for the Portland Tractor and Engine show one year while I was building the house we live in now. Went up to Bryant IN to pick up some combine parts and saw a hand lettered sign at a county road--"Hardwood flooring--special at the mill."
The long and short is I bought 200 BF of 5" hickory T&G flooring for much less than oak at home. They said they would strap it on pallets and ship it to me in Texas. These pallets were really good maple lumber and some of it was figured to birdseye quality. I used it all up building some boxes and furniture for daughters and grand daughters. I like to use what is available or something someone else threw away.

I love the island idea. I've seen it before and always been a bit jealous. It looks so handy! My next remodel........ I'll be building one!

I don't have my bench built yet just got the wood yesterday " Thursday" going to make it out of 2x6's 4x4 legs I will probably either bolt it together or use lags, the top will be a piece of 3/4" ply wood then on top I'm thinkin a sheet of galvanize .The back part I'll put up a sheet of thinner ply wood and build shelves for powder, bullets ect.
I don't have a bench made yet so no pics. I do plan on making mine out of 2x6's and 4x4's for the legs and a piece of 3/4" ply wood for the top bolted together and use some lags also.
Eat more ice cream honny , I'm loading a new caliber.
I've got several ice cream buckets full of brass as well as several Folgers coffee containers. The three in your picture look like the ones I used to get at Sam's. Larger than those at WallyMart or other groceries. I don't get any more since we switched to Community Coffee. We have to make some sacrifices in life.

I finally unboxed my new Lee loader to see how it mounted. Was about to build a small table for it and thought I would see what others had done. Nearly went crosseyed looking through the first 20 pages here. Wow...and wow.

For anyone intending to BUILD a moderate-size bench:
Take a look at the Harbor Freight 60" bench with the four big drawers.
I just put one together (with the great help of NVCurmudgeon) in my new post-divorce apartment.
The bench is a screaming deal at around $150, and the quality and appearance is sufficiently good that I wouldn't even mind having it in a den or similar location.
It's solid as a rock, and even has a woodworker's vise on one end.
By the time one buys material for a similar-size bench, he will be getting close to the purchase price for this $150 one....and he WON'T have anywhere near the quality.
I've built a few loading benches in my time, and this one (as I said already) is a genuine DEAL.
The instructions are Chinese-obscure, but we sorted them out, and a few hours' assembly time gave me a marvelous bench.
I am impressed (and I do NOT work for Harbor Freight).

this is a great thread. got all kinds of ideas. you guys are talented. Hey Ross, how do you like your Lee Loadmaster?
I have seen the bench that Bruce has at Harbor Freight and I agree it would work good as a reloading bench or even a casting bench.
