Lead Ingot Molds

Anyone know where I can find a blank rectangular lead ingot mold? I am looking for one that doesnt have Lyman/RCBS on it.

Is there an university around you that offers a metal casting class? They may be willing to pour some for you, if you provide a pattern. That's what I did, when I was going to college. Some of the guys in my classes were student assistants and they were willing to pour me a mold. Only wish I had them make me more than just one.

How big??? There's plenty of options, from Wally world mini-loaf pans (Echo????) to lodge (or Camp-chef) cast-iron bread pans. IIRC, the mini's make a 2 pound ingot, and the Camp-chef that I have if filled to the top would probably be @ 20 (I use them for pre-blend WW alloy....)

Many people just weld up their own out of channel iron or angle iron.

Since the Lyman and RCBS molds create their names as indentations on the ingots, the lettering in the mold is raised. You might be able to grind off the lettering with one of these:

Angle grinder


High speed cutoff tool


Die grinder
